The men are easy. Likely, they are going to be wearing tuxes or dark color suits. Make sure to order their suits at least 2 months before and get fitted two weeks before the wedding. Choose complimenting colors to the bridesmaid gowns or a shade of the chosen wedding colors. You could have the best man, or parents, wear a different color tie, vest or cummerbund than other groomsman or ushers.
The ladies have more options than the men for different attire. You can really get creative. The Maid/Matron of Honor could have a darker color dress than the bridesmaids. You can mix up the styles but keep the same color for the bridesmaid dresses. This way everyone will have a dress that looks the most flattering to their body type. You will want to select bridesmaid dresses at least a few months in advance because they may take as long as 8-10 weeks to come in and may need alterations.
The important thing about the wedding attire is that outfits don't clash. Many pictures will be take with everyone in the wedding and you want to make sure the pictures look good. Dad's tweed dark green suit may look nice in the closet but not so nice next to the pink dresses and dark tuxes. Have fun coordinating the attire of your wedding party and keep all your attire organized in The Wedding Sweet.
