The Honeymoon: Look Forward to Relaxing

When your wedding arrangements are driving you crazy you let yourself drift off into daydreaming about the relaxation after the Big Event, your honeymoon.
Planning for the honeymoon is more fun than planning for the wedding but you must do some research. First, you have to determine you both want the same kind of vacation. Sometimes one person is dreaming of lying in the sun on a sandy beach drinking a bottomless rum drink while the other is planning a hike through the mountains.
The honeymoon choices are endless, cruising on a big or small ship anywhere in the world, driving through Europe staying in castles, an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, skiing in the Alps or the Andes. Using a travel agent takes some of the stress out of the process.
You must remember to put aside enough money from your budget to have a memorable vacation. The average honeymoon is said to be about $10,000. That must factor in those Platinum Honeymoons. Really though, you should plan between $4-6,000 for a 7-10 day honeymoon.
You will also need to discuss if you want to be on your own at this time or join a tour if you plan to travel through areas unfamiliar to you. There are great ways to do both.

If you decide to have a Destination Wedding, your honeymoon may be in the same resort area, but you can also move to another resort nearby. That provides more privacy but also allows you to visit with your guests. This is a favorite for families with small children along.
Whatever you choose it will be perfect for you as long as you've created the trip together.
